Sources Policy
The goal of this policy is to show readers what counts as evidence on dear-passengers.net and what does not.
Source priority
- Official store pages, official websites, official trailers, official announcements, and other first-party materials are the preferred source of record.
- Developer or publisher posts on verified public channels are used when they clearly state the fact being cited.
- Hands-on demo observations can support gameplay notes, provided the page makes clear what was directly observed and what remains uncertain.
How secondary sources are used
Media reports, interviews, community discussions, and creator videos can be useful discovery tools, but they do not replace first-party confirmation for key facts such as release timing, supported platforms, player counts, crossplay, pricing, or system requirements.
When a secondary source is worth mentioning, the page should label it accordingly and avoid upgrading it to confirmed status without first-party evidence.
Discord, screenshots, and hard-to-verify material
Public Discord announcements or similar messages are only treated as strong evidence when readers can verify where and when the statement appeared. If a claim depends on a screenshot that cannot be independently checked, the site lowers its certainty instead of overstating it.
What the site avoids
- Rewriting unverified rumors as answers.
- Claiming a feature is unsupported when the official position is only silence.
- Copying large blocks of official store text or competitor copy instead of writing original summaries.
- Citing a vague 'official source' without enough detail for a reader to understand the origin.
